How much traveling do you do around the holidays? We travel as much as the weather allows. I got caught in a blizzard in central Illinois one year on Christmas break, that was the very last time I traveled without checking the weather map. It is so important to be safe as well as prepared for any type of road conditions. I mean, Accidents are called accidents for a reason. I've never heard anyone say they wanted to get into a fender bender on purpose.
I have shared several posts with all of you about being prepared and keeping the necessities in the car in case there is an emergency on the road but what about being prepared digitally? Do you have a dashcam of any kind in your vehicle?
I don't. I didn't really think about the importance of it until one of my grandfathers was in an accident recently. I was bringing my daughter to school and came upon the accident completely coincidently. It was so bad that I didn't even recognize the vehicle, my daughter saw him standing on the side of the road.
I took a picture to send to mom just because of the thickness of the fog, it was so thick the only thing we could see was the emergency lights from the intersection, not even what type or size of the vehicles. It was completely gray outside.
His side of the story was that he was turning into the back and didn't see any oncoming traffic headlights. He was hit by a truck that was speeding through a 35 mile an hour zone. He was hit hard enough to turn his vehicle facing the complete opposite way and pushed over 3 lanes.
The other driver said he was driving and the vehicle (my grandfather) pulled out in front of him.
In conclusion, my grandfather lost his license and was ticketed for several reasons. He is due to be in court in January over the whole situation. The tickets said it was clear driving conditions. In my picture, there is proof that there was rain on my windshield and such thick fog that it was impossible to see oncoming traffic without lights. I am hoping that helps him get his license back.
If he had the Nexar Beam dashcam, he would have been able to prove his side of the story. A dashcam is acceptable to turn into insurance for a collision. It saves hard braking, collision, and manually saved clips on a loop.
The Nexar Beam has great features that every driver could use.

- Enables unlimited cloud backup for road events including hard brakes, collisions and manually-saved clips
