In this post, I'm going to show you all the Woombie. I love this brand and all of their cool products. From swaddles to accessories, they have you covered, and wrapped! We just received the Wopmbie and the Pacimitts and I think you'll love them as much as we do!

All new parents know the struggle of sleep. This stage passes so quickly but it feels like a decade (at least) while going through it. When I had my first daughter, we had a system. She woke up, dad ran to the kitchen to get the bottle, I changed her diaper, fed her and back to sleep. It worked, well! The first time she slept through the night, I woke up in sheer panic about 4 am because she wasn't crying. I woke up her dad and said look- "she's asleep!" he said "then why did you wake me up?" and went back to sleep. At that moment, I just wanted to let him know I didn't have to wake him up. HAHAHA!! It was a big deal for me!

As she grows, the swaddle unzips to let her move her arms but still has the wearable blanket feel. It expands on the sides and at the bottom.

When it comes to self-soothing, it's hard to know which option is the best. Do you want a thumb sucker or use a pacifier? I think there are pros and cons to both options.

Thumb sucking- pro- the thumb won't get lost in the sheets con- you can't take the thumb away when it's time to break the habit. Abby was my tiny thumb sucker.

Pacifier- pro- you can take it away when it's time to give it up. Con- it gets lost at the most inconvenient times. When there is a favorite pacifier and it gets lost, it will turn into an all-out manhunt. Cass was my pacifier baby.

Newborns are totally dependant on their parents. When they are tired, it's up to mom and dad to hold their pacifier for them. When the paci is lost, mom and dad to the rescue. I am here to tell you that a pacifier is a great way to learn self-soothing techniques.  The only problem with that is they can't get it to their mouth on their own first several months.

What are Pacimits?

Mittens for newborns to keep them from scratching their faces are a must have. Their tiny little fingernails are so sharp but bendy at the same time. Their tiny little fingers get excited and they pinch and scratch themselves. It happens. No matter how I tried to keep their nails trimmed, a scratch here and there still happened.

Let me lay out a little scenario for you.

How many times did you wake up to a hysterical infant that only wanted a pacifier? I honestly don't know an accurate count on that. You know that situation, fumbling around in the dark to find a pacifier.  You can't turn the light on because that turns a nighttime fuss into play time. NO ONE wants that ay 2 am. The goal is to help that tiny baby be happy and sleepy.

The time that a baby is waking through the night is really only a short period of time. When you are working on 15 minutes of sleep at a time, for a few weeks straight, it feels like an eternity.  My best advice is if at all possible, sleep while the baby is sleeping. Especially in the beginning, you will need that recharge.
