When did you decide you needed a new bed? We waited for what I think was longer than we should have. Our old mattress was bowed so bad that I couldn't walk with my back straight when I first got up. I would have to walk hunched over with one hand on my hip until I worked out the kinks. It was so bad I thought I actually threw my back out several times. Nope, it was just our bed.
We have gone out looking for a new mattress several times without finding something we could both agree on. I think we have a common problem that many couples face. We don't have the same desires in a bed. I like a firmer mattress while he likes ultra plush. I like to know I am laying on a bed, he likes to lay in it. So, finding something that we can both be comfortable with and actually sleep on, is tricky.
We had the opportunity to work with Nectar Mattress recently and thought it would be a great way to try a bed in our home instead of just on a showroom floor. That does make a huge difference. When we went trying out beds, There is a covered area at the head and feet area so customers don't get the bed dirty. When I sleep, my head and feet don't go in that area. How can I get a true idea if I am laying in a guided spot?
From the beginning of the project with Nectar, I was really excited. They have great reviews and only positive feedback, from what I can find. I was hoping that this would be the one, the bed that we could both use happily without sacrificing comfort levels.
So, here is my experience with Nectar.
The package came and it was raining (of course it would be). We got it into the house and it's in a big blue bag. I am honestly impressed, it's in a huge role. Opening it was really easy too. Because of the size, I set it right on the foundation and rolled it out. It took shape just like a regular mattress.
The big blue bag was water proof and pulled down pretty easy once I realized it was hung on my other mattress. came off and there was a zippered bag with handles that the mattress was nestled into. It was wrapped in a thick plastic sheet/tube. I cut that off and rolled the bed out on top of my foundation.
Once it was in place, I cut away the vacuum sealed bag and instantly the bed started to expand. It came with 2 pillows The mattress and pillows couldn't have been more than 2 inches thick and now its over a foot thick. When I first started opening it, I thought for sure it was going to spring open send me sailing to the moon, 'm so happy I got that all on video. It was super smooth.
I am so much more than impressed with this mattress.
So, the bed is in place and well, we love it. It's not too firm or too soft. It reminds me of the comfort level of a motel bed. The ones that you get the best night of sleep ever but you can't have at home. HA we have one!!
This fits on our queen sized foundation perfectly. We didn't have to buy anything special to make it work with what we already had here at the house. One thing that I really do enjoy is it's strength. We are not dainty delicate people. We are a little bigger than average and have canine companions. If you don't know what that means, we usually have at the very minimum of 2 extra bodies in our bed if not 4. This bed is holding us up just fine. No disturbances at all.
This mattress came with 2 pillows and it if, for real, the most amazing set. I don't need my other pillows. I have always slept with 2 pillows or more. I have the perfect comfort level with just one pillow.
After sleeping on the bed for a few days now, I am convinced, this is the bed for us. I don't want another one. Aron was doing the motion transfer test and it passed with flying colors. He set an open can of soda on the bed and flopped over with his heavy elbow, nothing moved!!
As soon as I realized what he was doing I was yelling - I think- Use a closed can!! But it was too late. He elbowed the bed AND no drink spillage!!! I was so shocked. Our old bed that if he sat down on his side, it made me feel like I was on a waterbed.This is so nice.
