The Genie Lamp is great for a regular table lamp. For reading, illuminating a room, projects or anything else that a lamp may be used for but I absolutely love it for my desk. When I am reviewing products, I have to be able to see what the product is, how it works, and most importantly, take lots and lots of good pictures so you can see what and how it does all this stuff that it does. The BenQ lamps do that.
Both lamps are amazing. I did have one lamp on each side of my desk but now that we have rearranged the house, I have one on my personal desk and one on my work desk. I love these. The lighting is so clean and with the adjustable warmth, it makes day or night writing and reading- easy and comfortable.
From a readers point of view, do you ever look at the images on an article and think - What kind of contortionism does it take to make it happen? What about the lighting? Does the photographer wear a light strapped to their head? That may sound funny but out of pure frustration and bad lighting, I have tried clipping lights to a hat and wearing it, to get a better angle. That didn't pan out the way I had planned. I got the idea from a movie with a dentist. It's hard to find the best angle and lighting but with BenQ, it's not a problem at all. I always have the best light. The range of movement is perfect.
This Genie Lamp is perfect for everyday people that appreciate a reading lamp but, I appreciate these lamps for far more than that. The Genie Lamp's features are perfect for my desk. I have this on my work desk and it goes perfectly with my desk top computer. The base is sturdy and keeps it from falling over. It's balanced so nicely.
The difference between the 2 lamps are the bending hinges. The Genie Lamp only pivots at the base. It leans perfectly over my computer screen and desk space completely. The head of the lamp pivots so I can turn it in every direction. It' great for adjusting.
The touch power is so cool. Just a tap turns the light on or off. Touching and holding for two seconds activates the patented e-reading light. The dial on the top turns to adjust the warmth of light to make it better for your eyes. I am always looking at the computer screen and this makes it so much better for me.
I love these lamps and their quality. I highly recommend them for any office, bedroom, or table.
