10 Great Ways to Get Beach Body Ready
Summer is fast approaching and whether you are planning a vacation or staying at home, you’ll want to be ready to shed some layers and enjoy the heat. Getting ready to hit the beach is about so much more than losing weight or toning up. It’s about how you feel. To enjoy showing some skin in the summer, you need to feel confident, happy and relaxed in your own body. So, instead of focusing on a dangerous crash diet, follow these tips and you’ll soon be rocking that bikini.
Drink Water
Drinking plenty of water will help your body flush out any toxins and keep all its systems working at their best. Water will also make you feel full and so less likely to snack or over indulge. Try to drink a glass before meals and then carry a bottle with you wherever you go and take regular sips throughout the day. The recommended 8 glasses might sound a lot, but you’ll soon find you’re drinking it without thinking.
Eat Right
Believe it or not, you don’t need to diet to lose weight. Cutting snacks and making a few simple changes can be all it takes. Some great tips for eating right include:
- Avoid fizzy drinks
- Cut sugar from your hot drinks
- Eat smaller portions. To make this easier, try eating 5 small meals a day instead of 3, and eat from a smaller plate
- Swap unhealthy snacks for fruit
- Avoid eating late at night
- Avoid alcohol
- Have a meat-free day
- Swap to low-fat versions of your favorite foods
Look After Your Skin
In the summer, you want your skin to glow. However, it can be hard to keep your skin looking young and healthy in hot weather so you’ll need to look after it. Use a body brush before you shower every morning to remove dead skin cells and improve your circulation, then make sure you moisturize every day and wear sunscreen when you go outside.
Cardio
Cardio exercise is important not only for losing weight. It will also help you to tone up, improve your circulation, help your mental health, keep you healthier and make you feel more confident. Start with swimming or a couch to 5k program which can both be gentle ways of introducing cardio to your routine.
Strength
Remember, you don’t need to be skinny to be fit and strong. Whether you are looking to lose weight or not, strength training is a great way to tone up, firm up and improve your health. Many women are put off strength exercises as they imagine some big body builder type. But, it isn’t all weights. Yoga and Pilates can both be exceptionally good muscle workouts which will strengthen and tone your whole body.
Target Problem Areas
If there is a part of your body you are very unhappy with, change it. This could be anything from changing your hair care routine to toning your legs.
Love Yourself
This is the most important thing. Whatever your size or shape, you need to learn to love yourself. Exercise and eating right will help boost your confidence and improve your mood, but if you need further help speak to a counselor or a friend about your concerns.
Dress the Part
There are so many options when it comes to swimwear nowadays. It isn’t just cover up or strip off, there is plenty in between. If you’re more comfortable hiding your belly, but still want to look cool and sexy plus size tankinis make a great option.
Try Something New
Summer is a fantastic time to make some changes to your style. Hit the shops and try some things you wouldn’t normally wear. Many of us get stuck when it comes to clothes. We wear the same styles we always have, because it’s what we’re used to and it’s how other people are used to seeing us. This doesn’t need to be the case. A new wardrobe can go a long way to helping you look and feel amazing.
Smile
Smiling can help you look and feel great. When people see you smile, they will normally smile back. Smiles can be infectious and a wonderful way to improve the atmosphere and make everyone feel better.
When preparing for summer, it’s important to remember that what you see online and in magazines isn’t real. Everyone has something about themselves that they would like to change or improve, and everyone, including you, has something that other people envy. Instead of trying to have the perfect body, focus on becoming fit, healthy and confident. Be the best version of you. Whatever that may be.
Wonderful tips! ^.^
